Bio
Cindy's love of nature and the enjoyment of sitting around a campfire has contributed significant inspiration with bringing the fire element into her current work. She has added Wood Burning or what is known as Pyrography into her repertoire. She has also been dabling in 'Smoke' Art. This form of art is called Fumage. This is where candle smoke is used to create a ground. Using a delicate brush and fine eraser, the image comes alive by gently being lifted out by using these tools. The work can take on a magical three dimensional appearance. Cindy uses home made candles from beeswax.
Cindy combines her years of watercolour techniques and has married these creations of Wood burning, Fumage, and sometimes either Watercolours or Hi-Flow Acrylics to make something utterly unique.
Cindy lives with her husband Scott of over thirty years on their acreage west of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan with a few horses, donkey, three dogs and multiple cats.
